The GLC made a great showing at the 60th Annual Reuben
Awards Weekend May 26-28 in Chicago, Illinois. Over half the chapter,
with spouses and kids, made the trip to the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. Two
new members joined the ranks, and three members returned home with Reuben
Division Awards. For the time being we'll be posting photos and notes here
daily, so check back frequently.

the end, but tomorrow...

POSTED 9/18/06: Someone dared
to smuggle a camera in for a forbidden glimpse at Saturday's highly confidential,
super-secret Chapter Chairperson/Newsletter Editors Meeting. They
have be dealt with, rest assured.

POSTED 9/17/06: A rather surprised-looking
Mark with Robin Rosenthal.

POSTED 9/16/06: Pran
(That's right, one name, just like Cher or Madonna), a cartoonist
visiting from New Delhi, India, is a busy boy. In fact, he is 'considered
the father of Indian comics, because he was the one who in 1960, created
first indigenous cartoon strips having Indian characters and based on local
themes.' Check out his
website to see all that he's got going on.

POSTED 9/15/06: I said I was
done with the Mark Szorady team-up photos, but I lied. There were
one or two others lurking about. Here he is again, this time with Rob
Smith, Jr.

Bonus Photo: Speaking of cartoons, here's a big metal one by Pablo Picasso.

POSTED 9/7/06: Here begin
a few photos by Ed Black, who was kind enough to provide notes.
For instance:
"Meet 'Kim Possible,' the highly popular Disney
television character from the TV show and movie. The character was created
by animation designer Steven Silver of Nickelodeon Studios in Burbank,
California and also freelances for Disney Studios down the street. Speaking
at one of the seminars this year at the Reuben Awards weekend, he said
that the inspiration for Kim Possible was his wife, Heidi. So, meet
Kim Possible!"
